More Stuff From Miles: Tales from the Trails

Part 1 - On Friday: My family drove to Santa Fe, New Mexico.  It was a boring 12 hour drive!  When we got there I was reunited with my best friend, Nathan.  We brought him a birthday present, and he got me a rattlesnake Lego.

Part 2 - On Saturday: We went into town and went to a 5 in Dime store. We watched a movie called Hop. We went on a hike in Galisteo Basin Preserve. We saw gold fish in a water tank that was pumped by a windmill.

Part 3 - On Sunday: We travelled to a park called Valles Caldera, it is a huge crater from a volcano.  We hiked and saw a frozen river.  We saw a rabbit run right past us in the snow. We saw an abandoned ranch and I went inside with Nathan and my dad. We climbed up huge boulders.  We found 100 animal bones.  My dad found obsidian, which is volcanic glass, and he found orange bird feathers, but we have no clue who they were from.  We also found two carcasses and one skull.  I have a jaw bone and a tooth! I wonder what we will do tomorrow. I can't wait to find out.
