Yellowstone: The Grand Canyon?

 By Wednesday, we were exhausted. It had been an amazing week, but a demanding one. That said, we had one last major sight to see at the park: the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. This was the place that had sent John Muir into paroxysms of joy, so we were excited to visit. 

We did a couple of gorgeous, small hikes that gave us a sense of the place.





 After a late lunch, we debated whether to visit any spots we'd missed. But, the truth of the matter was that, by this time, we were cooked. We were exhausted after five heavy trail days, and the work day to come on Thursday was starting to push its way into my thoughts. It was time to say goodbye to Yellowstone. It had been as amazing as we'd hoped, and we'd gotten our share of joy and excitement from it. But we were ready for a rest ... and our next stop, Grand Tetons National Park!
