It wouldn't be right to say that today was calm, but, with most of the hardest work done, today was mostly about wrapping up loose ends. We cleaned up the house a bit. We made some last-minute decisions about what to bring in the car and what to pack for shipping. We did a lot of dishes and laundry. And, we test-packed the car, which was actually must harder that you might expect. It was almost like a big, crazy game of Tetris. In the end, this is what it looks like to pack for the next six months:
When the work was finally done, we said our last goodbye - time for one last game night with Mark, Tevis, and Miles, our Covid "bubble" family.
It was absolutely heartbreaking. We've spent the last couple of weekends saying goodbye to our closest friends, and all the while, I've been thinking about what an amazing "family" we have here in California. I'm so grateful for each and every one of them. They've made my time here the best of my life. Thanks to all of you.
Tomorrow, the moving truck comes, and everything changes. Wish us luck!
